Maps

In 1979,  Gregory Batesons’,  In Mind and Nature, a Necessary Unity, he  wrote     “…the map is not the territory.  And the name is not the thing  named“. Leading his readers to question their use of words and meaning. Being a former geologist, maps of rock formations were a major interest of mine. In this series  I create the “maps” in my mind.  Knowing they are not real, but playful arrangements of color, shape, and texture that sometimes echo organic forms in nature.
